Farmers

So I was going to post about a performance piece but i've decided that the stain performances have lived their lives - although the staining is still continuing -Got to make the donuts.

My time here has been surrounded by the activity of the local farmers. I hear the tractors all day long, I see all the different things grown in the fields, the harvesting of the different things, the preparing of the fields. These are all small farmers growing a very wide variety of things. This being a European country the way the farms work has been worked out over the centuries. Nothing seems to be by accident. The fences are raspberry bushes, the waste is fed to pigs or chickens, horses and sheep and cows keep the fields in good shape (and not needing mowing) and I could go on but will spare you. The farmers are utterly resourceful and in this world of environmental problems these people seem to work well with the environment (yes i know there a lot of problems with pesticides etc and this is not a utopia but just work with me here for a few minutes). I've just come away with a better understanding of why the French fight so hard for their farmers. And I certainly have so much more respect for farmers in general

I've been painting a lot and been getting a lot of paintings done. I am experimenting with different ways of putting the paint on my surfaces. I haven't figured this problem out yet but I do think I'm getting closer to figuring out how to better use the mylar material I'm working with. anyway I hope you like my farmer paintings.
