The worst thing about being a full time artist - besides having to sign all the autographs - is doing the administrative stuff. I spent all of last week cataloging all my french paintings. I have new booklets and am planning on changing my website in the near future to reflect the new work. So eat up while you can; )
i'm finally back in the studio working on my empty studio series. As I've stated i'm trying to build up and break down the paintings at the same time. The pictures are of the second empty chair that I'm working on. The first photo is the 2nd state of the painting and the the second is of the 3rd state of the painting. I have removed the apple from the painting because it takes away from the empty feeling and fights for attention that the chair should hold.
I am hoping that these paintings will lead to the next series which will be with figures addressing similar issues of breaking down and building up of the figure.
