I've been working very hard to find a way to make my paintings on mylar a more permanent type of painting. I am very happy with a very fine finish on a gessoed panel. This is my first panel.
Mackintosh strikes again!? His wife Margaret McDonald designed her best work for gesso panels which have now been reproduced in the "House for an art lover" in Glasgow. How about trying a series on broken bones...tibia, fibula, femur?....
No more broken bones!! We have quite enough of that! and I'm sure Annabelle told you how close she was to being in the club about a month ago by slipping on our slick floors.
I'll have to look at Mackintosh's wife - I'm not familiar with her work. The piping method for gesso is used by high end framers and then they gild on top of that. I hadn't thought to paint on a bump surface.
This blog contains the latest news, paintings and articles about and by Neil Plotkin, as he pursues his career as a fine artist in New York, with occasional detours to London, England, Detroit, Michigan and the Loir Valley in France (and yes that's spelled correctly as it's le Loir valley as opposed to the larger La Loire valley.)
