Review and overview

I want to thank all of the people who were able to make it to my open house yesterday. It was fantastic seeing so many people and talking about what I had been up to with my work since I started being a full time artist. I showed the work that I did for my Economic Transitions series, the work I did in France, and the series I'm working on now called the Empty Studio. I was so pleased by the positive feedback that I got from everyone. It makes sitting alone in my studio day after day a lot more rewarding. The most exciting aspect of the open house for me was that people responded so well to the new series of work that I'm doing. I have been doing the work for myself - as every artist is supposed to - and not thinking about how anyone else would respond to it. I have been dealing with a broad range of ideas in the paintings and didn't expect other people to be interested in the work. So I was very happily surprised that people were very enthusiastic about the new body. Some of the work is on the blog - the chairs in different states. I am planning on updating my website in the near future so that you can see more more current work. It will be a big superstar event to be sure!

I want to again thank all of the people who made my open house an absolute success. I also hope to see all the people who have asked for private showings in the next couple of weeks.
