A straight croissant means it's made with butter and not margarine. I will be making a visit to my doctor upon my return to check my cholesterol. BUT i have been drinking my red wine to help with that. Contrary to popular belief, the wine is very good here. Amazing bottles for under 5 dollars. Have I mentioned that France is really nice?

I have to agree with Leah! It reminds me of the choclate frosting! Sounds like you are doing just what you had wanted to do in France. Glad it is all coming together for you. You are an incredible artist, Neil...plus you are SUCH a wonderful person!
Do you seriously mean to say that the French would actually make a croissant with margarine? I was pretty sure they had never even heard of the substance! Lindsay wants to know if the baguettes are good.....
I just wanted you to know that someone in Colorado is enjoying this blog. It is my very first blog, so I'm not sure it will show up on your site. Your experiences in France sound amazing. Thanks for sharing it with us. Loieee
