Some days

Some days are better than others. My performance piece was the high point of my day. The staining of doors done in a raw space called "The Stain" representing all the canvas I had ruined previously in my effort to become a good painter. There was a roar of approval during my final brush stroke.

On a more honest note, I attempted to paint the changing skys here. The sky is constantly changing and is always beautiful. There is a constant drama in the sky. I have been trying to capture a little bit of it in my paintings. It's very tough since the clouds change so quickly. It makes me admire the 19th century landscape painters that much more. they could capture singular moments while painting from life.

Did they though? "Capture singular moments while painting from life"? I suppose you are right in the sketch stage but suspect a lot of the finished stuff we see in the museums is done after looking through their hoard of studies and constructing that magical weather moment from all of those.
