Troo

Troo (pronounced Troe or Troh - of course with a gurgly r) is about 8 miles from here. It's an amazing little town on top of a hill which seems to be unusual for this area. There are all these trolodytic homes (caves if you will) that people still live in and there's this amazing church on top of this mound. So the town also makes a small artisanal cheese which I happen to like a lot. So we drove out and I painted by the side of a road about 1 mile from the city. I seemed to make friends with a local farmer who kept driving his tractor up and down the country lane. It's currently wheat harvesting time - there is a lot of activity in the region as farmers harvest. You can always hear very loud tractors driving around. While I was painting, I did get to see a man driving a cart being pulled by a donkey. That was a bit of a surprise. So I painted again in a howling wind. I had results from some paintings that led me to the idea of doing a marathon of paintings. You'll get to see those later. I may actually use some of the stain from my "performance pieces" to make it look as though I really did some performance art.

Wow! I am really curious to see the top paintings sky in person. I can't tell what is surface (mylar?) and what is paint all the while the blue is sitting back there looking like real sky behind the clouds. Amazing.
