Open Studios
This weekend I went to open studios at the Elizabeth Foundation over the weekend. It was really wonderful to see around 80 artists' work. The work was almost always of the highest caliber and made from so many different perspectives. I am going to try and list some of the work that I found to be particularly interesting and that I can find links to. There is a print studio, the Robert Blackburn Studio, as well which is open to members. I found that to be particularly interesting. I am hoping that I might be able to do some print work to help develop my own work in new ways. I spoke to their master printer Phil for quite some time about how printmaking can play a strong role in the development of an artist's work. It can break down the what a person does into steps which can them be examined and refined. There is even a gallery open to the public on the 2nd floor with shows. So i'll try and find some links to show the work of some of the artists today

I looked at the foundation site. It looks very interesting, a good way of getting to know and mix with others. The print studio too opens new vistas, although I expect it is an entirely different technique from oils. There is a real sense of growth through all these new developments
i'm glad you wrote. I owe you an email - and was just thinking about that. The print making studio was very exciting and the open studios were the best thing i've done since i've returned from france. they made me realize how much is available here in new york and it opens new avenues as you said
